दादा साहब फाल्के पुरस्कार

दादा साहब फाल्के पुरस्कार की स्थापना वर्ष 1969 में भारतीय सिनेमा के पितामह दादा साहब फाल्के की 100वीं जयंती के अवसर पर की गई थी। यह भारतीय सिनेमा का सबसे बड़ा पुरस्कार है। भारत सरकार द्वारा यह पुरस्कार भारतीय सिनेमा के संवर्धन और विकास में उल्लेखनीय योगदान करने के लिए दिया जाता है।

'लाइफ टाईम अचीवमेंट अवार्ड' के रूप में दिया जाने वाला 'दादा साहेब फाल्के पुरस्कार' भारत के फ़िल्म क्षेत्र का सबसे प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कार है।प्रतिष्ठित व्यक्तियों की एक समिति की सिफारिशों पर यह पुरस्कार प्रदान किया जाता है। वर्ष 1969 में पहला पुरस्कार अभिनेत्री देविका रानी को दिया गया था।

यह पुरस्कार वर्ष के अंत में राष्ट्रीय फ़िल्म पुरस्कारों के साथ प्रदान किया जाता है। लेकिन वर्ष 2006 में बंबई हाई कोर्ट ने फ़िल्म महोत्सव निदेशालय को यह  निर्देश दिया कि वह इस सम्मान के लिए बिना सेंसर की हुई फ़िल्मों पर ही विचार करे। इस पर  फ़िल्म महोत्सव निदेशालय ने सर्वोच्च न्यायालय में चुनौती दी और सर्वोच्च न्यायालय का फैसला फ़िल्म महोत्सव निदेशालय के पक्ष में आया । अदालती फैसले में देरी के कारण उस वर्ष के पुरस्कार की घोषणा वर्ष 2008 के मध्य में की गई। 2007 के पुरस्कार की घोषणा सिंतबर,2009 में हुई और इसी तरह वर्ष 2008 के पुरस्कार की 19 जनवरी, 2010 को तथा वर्ष 2009 के पुरस्कार की घोषणा 9 सितंबर, 2010 को हुई।

इस पुरस्कार में भारत सरकार की ओर से दस लाख रुपये नकद, स्वर्ण कमल और शॉल प्रदान किया जाता है। वर्ष 2008 का 'दादा साहेब फाल्के पुरस्कार' कर्नाटक के वी.के. मूर्ति को प्रदान किया गया था, जो इस प्रतिष्ठित पुरस्कार को पाने वाले पहले सिनेमैटोग्राफर थे।

‘दादा साहेब फाल्के अकेडमी’ के द्वारा भी दादा साहेब फाल्के के नाम पर तीन पुरस्कार दिए जाते हैं, जो हैं –
